With a heavy heart, Meera and Ekaksh eventually left the orphanage and got back into his car. The drive back to their homes was silent, each of them lost in their own thoughts.
When Ekaksh dropped Meera off outside her house, they shared a glance that was full of sadness and sympathy. Meera gave him a weary smile before getting out of the car and walking to her front door.
Ekaksh watched as Meera entered her house, the door slowly closing behind her. He let out a heavy sigh and ran a hand through his hair, feeling a mix of guilt and sadness.
He sat there for a moment, staring at the empty space where Meera had been, before finally pulling himself together and driving off.
Once inside her house, Meera sank down onto her couch, feeling utterly exhausted both physically and emotionally. She couldn't shake the image of the babies from her mind, and the weight of guilt sat heavily in her chest.
She sat there for what felt like hours, until eventually, she got up and shuffled into her bedroom, collapsing onto her bed and falling into a restless sleep.

After waking up from my sleep For the rest of the day, I couldn't bring herself to eat. I tried to keep myself distracted by watching TV or scrolling through my phone, but the images of the babies from the orphanage kept popping up in my mind.
As the day turned into night, I was lying awake in bed, staring at the ceiling. My stomach growled with hunger, but I couldn't bring myself to get up and fix something to eat.
With a pang of sadness and the memories of the babies and the orphanage flooded my mind. Soon I drifted into sleep.

As I pulled up in front of my penthouse, feeling exhausted and emotionally drained. As I got out of the car and walked up to the front door, my mind was filled with thoughts of the babies we had left at the orphanage.
The guilt and sadness I felt was overwhelming, and I couldn't shake the images of their tiny faces from my mind. I let myself into the apartment and sank onto the couch, burying my head in my hands.
I spent the rest of the evening trying to distract myself, but nothing seemed to work. I watched TV, tried to read a book, even attempted to work on a project I've been putting off. But no matter what I did, I couldn't escape the thoughts that consumed my mind.
As the night wore on, I eventually gave up and went to bed, hoping that a good night's sleep would make things better. But even in my dreams, I kept seeing the faces of the babies we had left behind.

As the new day arrived both Ekaksh and Meera goes to their daily routine. Both of them are thinking of meeting the babies. Which eventually they did .
A week pass by in blink of eye , They exchange their contact details and it became a routine of Ekaksh picking Meera up from her house and they both would go together to meet the babies. Both Meera and Ekaksh seems to get close to each other in this week.
One fine morning
As Meera was getting ready for her day and her and Ekaksh visit to the orphanage when her phone ring . She saw it was her mentor subhas , she picks the call up "
Meera: " good morning sir "
Subhas: " good morning meera "
Meera: " sir, is everything alright you called early in the morning "
Subhas: " yes everything is fine but Meera can you go dehradun "
Meera: " dehradun... But why sir " while keeping back her hand mirror.
Subhas: " yes , there is a law intern field conference and they need a mentor for it. So, can you go "
Meera: " but sir I'm also an intern then how can I go and I have to look after something here , can't you send someone else ."
Subhas: " you're internship is almost over and you are one of the best student and only one without any assignments. It's a great opportunity "
Meera: " okay sir I'll go, by the way when do I have to leave " said after thinking for a while.
Subhas: " this afternoon I'll book your tickets and they will provide accommodation.
Meera: " okay sir "
Meera dialled Ekaksh call. As Ekaksh tossed and turned in his bed, wrestling with his thoughts, he suddenly heard a faint ringing sound. He opened his eyes groggily and realized it was his phone. He picked up the phone, seeing that Meera was calling him. He quickly answered. "Meera?" he said, his voice hoarse from his lack of sleep.
"Hey," Meera replied, her voice sounding tired as well. "Did I wake you?"
"No, I was already awake," Ekaksh said, trying to sound calm even though his mind was still swirling with thoughts."I actually needed to talk to you about something," Meera said, sounding serious. "It's about the upcoming field conference."
Ekaksh sat up in bed, suddenly feeling more attentive. "What about the conference?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
"The mentor called me this morning," Meera explained. "They're short on field trip mentors, and they asked me to lead one of the group.
Ekaksh was surprised. "But you've never mentored a field trip before," he said.Meera let out a weary sigh. "I know, but I don't have much of a choice. They need someone they can count on, and I'm the only one without an internship assignment right now."
Meera again said with a sad sigh " but I don't want to go " " why " " because I won't be able to go and meet the babies " then Ekaksh asked with a done tone " is this the only reason " " yes " " see , it's a big opportunity you should not let it slipped away . Beside that I will daily call you to tell you about the babies . So , you don't have to worry about them but still if you don't want to go then it's your decision " .
Meera asked " promise that you will daily tell me about the babies " " yes " Meera again asked " pakka promise " " Haa baba pakka promise " Ekaksh replied with a soft chukle . " By the way when you will be back " " it's for a week " " okay , then all the best and have a safe journey " .
Meera finished packing her bags, her mind filled with thoughts of the upcoming field conference and the babies they had left behind. She had informed her family about her departure, and they had wished her the best of luck.As she closed her suitcase, there was a knock on her door. She went to answer it, finding her mother standing there with a worried look on her face.
"Are you sure you have to go?" her mother asked, her voice filled with concern.Meera nodded. "I don't really have a choice," she replied.
After packing her things giving good bye to her family , meera left for the airport. After landing at the airport she straight away went to the hotel. She started her duty as a mentor with Full confidence.
Six days pass in a blur . The field conference was in full swing, and Meera was busy running around doing all the mentor's duties, from making sure the interns were on track to organizing workshops and activities.
Despite being tired by their work , Ekaksh would call Meera in the night to talk about the babies and some casual things .
On the other Hand
Ekaksh was going about his daily routine, visiting the babies at the orphanage and working his fingers to the bone in the office. Suddenly, his secretary poked his head into his office.
Nitin: " sir , are you ready to leave "
Ekaksh: " where I'm going and office hours are not done yet ". Said while signing some files.
Nitin: " sir did you forget, you told me that your father asked you to attend a business party of a very close friend of your father. I have already booked your tickets and hotel room . " Said with confusion written in his face .
Ekaksh: " yaa , I was busy handling soo many things that it slipped out my mind ". Said while standing up and collecting his things and again Said " okay then I'm leaving , I'll be back by tomorrow evening. Call me if there is any emergency " .
By the time Ekaksh reached the hotel it was already evening . He took some rest and got ready for the party.
Back to the conference field
Meera was instructing to some interns about something when she got a call from her father. excusing herself she went away from the the student.
Meera: " hello papa "
Meera's father: " hello Meera! How are you "
Meera: " I'm good papa "
Meera's father: " I wanted to ask when will be your conference will be over "
Meera: " by the evening and I'll be home by tomorrow, why "
Meera's father: " okay but don't come home. I have to attend a business party
And I want you to attend it with me .
Meera: "okay papa "
Soon night arrived and Meera with her father went to the business party. On the other side Ekaksh also left for the party.
The party was in full swing, with businessmen and women from all over the city mingling and networking. Meera was making her way through the crowd, feeling out of place and more than a little uncomfortable. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure across the room.
